I can’t believe that it’s been 3 weeks since I last posted! Where does the time go? I actually decided to take a whole two weeks away from work emails, social media and text. Don’t get me wrong; I love my job and my clients are fab, but to leave work at the door for two weeks was bliss! Consequently though I have a few emails, blog posts, tweets…….you get the picture…to catch up on!

According to the mighty Twitter…..and who would argue with them? It was #ReadABookDay yesterday. I am a huge book fan. I love them. Could spend hours just wondering around a book shop. It’s indulgent and calming. Best to be done on your own! Reading is one of my coping strategies. There is not a lot better than getting completely lost in a book. Granted not every book is going to get you hooked and draw you in, but when you find one…..it’s pure bliss. It can transport you away from your mind. Immerse you in a different world.

I’m not saying that reading will necessarily ground you, when you are in the midst of a full on anxiety attack. But you know that feeling that leaves you unsettled,  preoccupied, that something just isn’t right? That’s the time I know I need to busy my head, take it away from the sensation of uncertainty, away from that line; that if you step over it, it may just invite anxiety in. That’s when reading helps me.

I have just finished reading this absolute stunner of a book. I completely loved it. Brilliant story.  Definitely one to get lost in! An obvious recommendation from me.

Everyone has their different ways of coping with the different levels of anxiety that they deal with day to day. This is just one of my ways. Maybe (hopefully) it will help you as well. Let me know your thoughts.

Happy Reading x
